Passover Seder

Our church occasionally has a Passover Seder. The program below was printed on transparencies and the kids in T&T and Sparks participated. It is a responsive program, and the entire program lasts about 2 hours if done right, so expect it to take your entire meeting. Here are some pictures from our service several years ago...

During the service, you are supposed to recite the Psalm 136. I set this to music. Here it is in both Hebrew and KJV.

Grand Prix Resources

Below is a spreadsheet that we used for our grand prix, using a Data Projector. It is a 'Bracket Box', all cells on the spreadsheet are protected except for the entry areas for the car numbers. Directions for using the spreadsheet is found by opening the spreadsheet and paging down...

The following two files are cutout sheets we use for our Pit Crew Party. The sheets have 1:1 scale shaded areas for the block of wood. The kids draw their car outline in the area, cut it out, and tape it to their block. We then use a band saw to cut the block exactly as they have drawn. This saves a LOT of time and confusion.

The One Cut Cross

The story of the One Cut Cross is a really neat object lesson. I do not know who to thank for the background story #1, I think it's been handed around. Our Children's Pastor told story #2 to me. Both stories and the bitmaps are included in this Microsoft Word Document.

Leader Training

The following are some documents for Training, including a Web-enabled Powerpoint Slideshow for training.
If you missed the class you can take it here, online. Print out the handout to go along with the Powerpoint Presentation. After you have worked your way through the class, click on the test that corresponds to the area you need to get certified in, and take the test. Key the answers in to an email to me. I will grade your paper and give you your trained patch at the next meeting.
If you are a leader/commander who wishes you can right-click on the handout and powerpoint, and save them to your hard drive, and customize them for your own training.

Games Resources

Here's some documents pertaining to some fun Games

Ever play the game 'Shipwreck'? To play this game, all teams get in the center of the Awana Game circle. The leader will call out a COLOR and the players must all cross that color line. Last one across is OUT. Leader calls another COLOR and the kids must run across THAT line. Last one across is out. Play continues until TIME is called. (Team with the most players IN is the winner.
If Leader calls SHIPWRECK, All players must enter the game circle at a run and lay on the floor, not touching ANY lines. Players have 5 seconds to lay down. Those still up or any touching a line are OUT.

Commander Bill from the DC area gave me the idea of writing a story to go along with the game. This makes the game even MORE fun because players must listen VERY carefully to hear the COLOR names.
